Czeladz is situated in Upper Silesia Region, in the south of Poland. The upper Silesia Region is well known as industrial (coal-mine, heavy industry, metal works) centre of Poland. It has a total area of 12.331 km2 and a population of 4,700,800 (12.3% of Poland). After 1989 the economy of the region is under the shift of transformation. The post-industrial region on Southern Poland bordering to Czech Republic and Slovakia has wealth and stability despite stormy history that resulted in flourishing industrial growth from the end XVIII century. It is a melting pot of cultures. The region is attractive for tourism, investments and education. Upper Silesia is the most diversified Polish region with unique provinces each with its local cultures and traditions (incl. 4 sub-regions).
